Everything your home tracks, in one place
MapSorix Care is in development. This page shows honestly what’s built and what’s still planned.
Resident care
Medication administration record
Each resident’s medications due today. Record given, refused, held and as-needed doses. Missed doses are marked and added to the home’s alerts.
Medication orders from a scan
Choose a faxed or scanned pharmacy list, physician’s orders or pharmacy MAR, and MapSorix Care fills in a draft of each order beside the scan, with anything uncertain flagged. A nurse checks and approves every order before it reaches the MAR. Read in Canada, with no AI.
Corrections that keep the record honest
Mistakes are corrected beside the original entry, with a reason and a name. Nothing is erased.
Medication safety checks
The resident’s photo, added with consent, and their allergies shown at every dose; an as-needed dose stopped when it’s too soon after the last one; and an alert if a dose is signed twice.
Controlled drug counts
A running balance for each counted medication: every dose given takes its units off, and deliveries, waste and returns are recorded with a second person as witness. At shift change two staff count without seeing the balance, and a count that doesn’t match opens an incident and an alert.
Vital signs
Blood pressure, pulse, temperature, breathing, oxygen, weight, blood glucose and pain. Flagged against limits your nurse sets for each resident.
Care notes
Shift notes, changes in condition, behaviour, appetite and more. Your own templates, filled in by tapping, so notes take less typing. Search by resident or type. Edits keep the earlier version.
Resident profiles
Room and bed, admission and discharge, physician, pharmacy, emergency contacts, allergies, code status, diagnoses, service plan needs, risk flags such as falls and wandering, and how often to take vital signs.
Resident documents
Keep scanned advance care directives, physician orders, assessments and consent forms with the resident. Every file is checked for viruses before anyone can open it, and every time a document is opened is recorded.
Quick-look resident summary
A one-page snapshot with diagnoses, current medications and the last 72 hours of vitals, ready to print for a hospital transfer.
Care plans and assessments
Care plans in plain-language sections, reminders for the first plan and yearly reviews, and every version kept. Falls, skin, memory, nutrition and pain assessments with next-due dates.
Physician exams and medication reviews
Each resident’s yearly physician exam and medication review, with a reminder when one is due or overdue, and a physician visit pack to print for the doctor.
Family portal
Invited family members see updates your staff share with them and, if you choose, photos shared with consent, upcoming appointments and recent vital signs. If you turn it on, they can also send you a note or an appointment they booked, which a nurse checks before it goes on the calendar. The home answers with a short set reply or asks them to call, and the family is emailed that the home answered. Two-step sign-in, and never care notes, medications or incidents. Off until you turn it on.
Resident calendar
Doctor appointments, medication reviews, home care and hospice visits, family visits and outings, with transportation, repeating visits and a list of past appointments that still need an outcome.
Meals and diets
Post your cycle menu for breakfast, lunch, supper and snacks, and record what the kitchen served instead and why. Each resident’s diet, texture, fluid thickness and help needed at the table read as one line, with allergies from the resident record, and the kitchen sheet prints.
Pharmacy requests
A directory of the pharmacies you use, and every request tracked from flagged, to sent, to received. Care aides flag a medication running low; nurses and administrators send the request. Refill reminders keep supplies from running out.
Pharmacy portal
Pair with a pharmacy you use and it gets its own two-step sign-in. It sends every document for your home in one place; each is sorted to a resident only when the name and date of birth match exactly, and a nurse checks every one before any order is added. Requests you send show the pharmacy’s progress. The pharmacy never sees your resident list, and you can end the pairing at any time.
Safety and compliance
Incident reports
Falls, injuries, skin tears, medication errors, behaviour, wandering and serious incidents. A checklist of who must be told, with a reminder when someone still hasn’t been, follow-up entries, and a printable report. If you set a follow-up schedule, each fall adds timed checks to the shift’s tasks.
Alerts
Missed doses, possible double doses, as-needed doses given too soon, readings outside the nurse’s limits, medication errors, serious incidents and controlled drug counts that don’t match, in one list. Nurses and administrators can also get urgent alerts on their own phone or computer.
Works when the internet drops
Staff already signed in on a care tablet keep charting, and their entries send themselves when the connection returns. Signing in and office computers need the internet, so print a blank daily record each morning as your paper backup.
Daily medication record printout
Print any day’s record for an inspection, or a blank copy each morning as your paper backup.
Audit trail
A tamper-evident log of every change, every print, every time a resident’s record is opened and every time a health number is viewed, naming the person. Each resident’s record shows its own history to administrators.
Inspection binder
Print a binder for a Ministry inspection, or download it as a spreadsheet: current residents, active staff, incidents, medications given and staff hours for the last 7, 14 or 30 days, and who has signed the confidentiality pledge. It lists where to print the records it doesn’t hold.
Privacy requests
Track each request to see or correct a resident’s record against its 30-day deadline, with any extension and the decision. A correction shows on the resident’s record and in every copy.
Today dashboard
Missed and due medications across the home, residents due for vital signs, open alerts, changes in condition and this week’s incidents. Staff on duty now, your tasks, shift checklist progress and new announcements. Open shifts, your next shift and today’s appointments. Coming up: everything due in the next two hours, in time order.
Policies and procedures
Add policies by category as text or PDF, search them, publish new versions with a note on what changed, and see which staff have read each version. Earlier versions are always kept.
Reports and exports
Vital signs and medication histories for each resident, incident history, timesheets and training records, to print or download as a spreadsheet (CSV), and schedules to print. Administrators can print or download a resident’s whole record, or every resident’s at once, with their documents. Every print and download is recorded.
Staff
Staff accounts and roles
Add administrators, nurses and care aides, change roles, and send password reset emails. Care aides can use a tablet PIN without an email account. Remove access in one step when someone leaves.
My account
Staff, family members and pharmacy staff who sign in with email change their own password, move their authenticator app to a new phone, and sign out everywhere at once.
Confidentiality pledge
Every staff member, care aides on tablets included, signs your confidentiality pledge before any record opens, and again when it changes.
Shared care tablets
Set up tablets for your floor, each staff member signs in with their own PIN, and a lost tablet can be locked from the office.
Shift checklists
Build checklists for day, evening and night shifts. Staff tick each item on the tablet and add a note when needed. Every tick is kept with a name and time, and the list prints for your records.
Shift handover
The last shift in one place: missed, refused and held doses, as-needed doses and how they worked, vital signs outside limits, incidents, care notes, and alerts and tasks still open. Each person marks it read, and nurses and administrators see who has.
Tasks
Give a task to one person, a role or anyone on shift, with a due date and time. Overdue tasks stand out, and completed tasks show who did them.
Announcements
Post news and policy changes for staff. Staff confirm they have read each one, and you can see who hasn’t.
Time clock
Staff clock in and out on the care tablet with their own PIN. Managers review and correct times with a reason, missed clock-outs are flagged, and timesheets print or export for payroll.
Scheduling
Day, week and month views, drag-and-drop shifts, and day, evening and night shifts clearly labelled. Staff offer to take open shifts, and you’re warned about double-booking, short rest and long weeks. Copy last week in one step. You build the schedule; nothing is assigned automatically.
Training
Courses with lesson text, video links and linked policies, short quizzes marked on the server, yearly refreshers, and a staff progress table you can print.
Staff credentials
Criminal record checks, first aid, the personal care course and any other credentials, with the dates they run out. See what each role is missing and what expires in the next 60 days, and print a credentials sheet for an inspector. Only administrators can see them.
Running the home
Resident billing
Each resident’s monthly rate and agreement terms, extra charges and credits, monthly invoices numbered in order, payments received and balances. MapSorix Care keeps the books; it never takes a payment, so residents and families pay you the way they do today.
Monday summary email
Each Monday morning your administrators get one email counting what needs attention: open alerts and incidents, counts that didn’t match, reviews and credentials coming due, unsigned pledges and open shifts. It names no one, and each administrator can turn it off.
Access you control
We can’t open your records in MapSorix Care unless your administrator approves it, choosing what we may see and for 1, 4 or 24 hours. End it at any time; every screen we open is in your audit trail.
Several homes, one sign-in
Staff who work in more than one of your homes switch between them with one sign-in. Each home keeps its own records, staff and settings, and there is no combined view across homes.
Records Archive
If your subscription ends, your staff keep read-only access to your records for 30 days, free, to download them. The Records Archive keeps read-only access for all your staff after that, for $19 a month (CAD): move to it from Settings instead of cancelling, or ask us to set it up if your subscription has already ended.
Coming later
Back-and-forth messages with families
Families send a note today, and the home answers with a short set reply or asks them to call. Typed messages back and forth are planned.
Rate-increase notices and move-out refunds
Resident billing records rates, charges and payments today. Notices of rate increases, move-out refund calculations and a resident trust account are planned.
